Conditions of the Jilbab.

As mentioned in our article about the correct way to wear a Niqab, the reason why it is allowed to show the eyes is to see the road or other things as a necessity.

So if you understand the ruling and wisdom behind wearing a Niqab, which is to hide the face in order to cover the entire body, and the reason why you can show the eyes ( because of a need ). You should understand that taking selfies, pictures and videos of your eyes showing and sharing them publicly contradict the purpose of the permissibility of showing the eyes.

To start with, the obligation of covering one’s ‘awrah ( parts of the body that must remain concealed from men that are considered as strangers ), is a command from Allah The Most High, we will first show the evidences and then proceed with a few terms that are used commonly in today’s society.

If you chose to follow the opinion that the face is a part of the awrah (the parts of the body that should be kept covered), you usually cover it with what is known as a Niqab, and you must wear it the correct way which is to cover everything except the eyes based on evidences from the Qu’ran and the Sunnah.

What is a Niqab ?

A Niqab is a garment of clothing that covers the face. It can be separate or attached to a Jilbaab which is a large outer garment, composed one piece or two pieces covering the entire body except the face and hands.

‘Awrah (Arabic: عورة‎) is a term used within Islam which denotes the intimate parts of the body, for both men and women, which must be covered with clothing. Exposing the ‘awrah is unlawful in Islam and is regarded as a sin.
